Mobile App Distribution

The Tier1 Mobile Now application supports three methods of distributing our application to users.

• Public App Store

• Mobile Device Management (MDM)

• Apple Business Manager

PUBLIC APP STORE

The simplest and easiest method to distribute the application is through the public Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Choosing this method requires your organization to upgrade the Tier1 managed package on a regular basis so when Tier1 releases a new version, users can download the latest version and leverage the new features. Read this for the instructions to download and login using the public app store.

MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT

Tier1 Mobile Now provides additional level of security compliance through interoperation with most mobile device management (MDM) suites. The major benefits of choosing this method is extra level of security provided by MDM as well as the following.

1. Release mobile app on your own release cadence. As the administrator, you can work with our client services team to determine when and how often to release.

2. Tier1 can rebrand the app name, initial splash screen, app description to suite your requirements.

PROCESS

1. Indicate to the Tier1 that you would like to distribute the app through an MDM and whether you require the binary file.

2. If you require the binary file, complete the following and send to your Tier1 client services representative.

   1. Platform: iOS / Android / Both

   2. App Name: default is Tier1 Mobile Now

   3. App Logo / Splash Screen: default is Tier1 logo and splash screen. Contact us on specification for logo and splash screen requirements.

   4. Bundle ID: e.g. com.bank1.appName

   5. Version: e.g. 2023.3. We may not be able to accomodate older versions.

   6. Preset MyDomain / CustomHost: e.g. myDomain.my.salesforce.com

   7. Additional Requests: additional security enhancements or disalbing specific app permissions.

3. Within a week, we will provide you the binary file for you.

4. Work with Tier1 client services representative to upgrade your Salesforce instance with latest managed package & release your app through MDM at the same time.

NOTES

• We do not provide instructions on how to configure your MDM system. Discuss specific setup steps with your specific MDM provider.

• We cannot provide troubleshooting help when issues are related to MDM setup.

• We may not be able to accommodate all additional requests as it may introduce issues in the application.

APPLE BUSINESS MANAGER

Apple has a program to distribute your own or applications developed by independent software vendor like Tier1. The major benefits of this method over the previous method is that you do not have to work with the binary file.

PROCESS

1. Provide the Organization ID to your Tier1 client services representative.

2. Provide the same information as above. Within a week, we will release the initial version to your testers.

3. Provide the email addresses of testers. We will release the test version through TestFlight.

4. Work with a Tier1 client services representative to upgrade your Salesforce instance with the latest managed package & inform us when you want us to release the application to your users.

   Apple may take few days to approve the app listing. We normally submit approval a week or two ahead of the release so we can have approval in time, however we do not control the approval process.

   It can take few hours to a day for new version to appear in the app store. We do not control how quickly the app is released to the app store.
