Users receive an error logging in

When attempting to log in to the Tier1 Inbox add-in, the user receives the following error message: “Error in retrieving session token, please check console log for details”.

Resolution 1: This error most commonly occurs when the Custom Domain (My Domain) URL is entered incorrectly in the settings.

Correct: tier1fin.my.salesforce.com

Incorrect: tier1fin.lightning.force.com

Users mistakenly paste their Salesforce lightning home page URL instead of the specific My Domain URL.

Resolution 2: If the domain format is correct, the Tier1 Inbox Connected App may not have been installed during onboarding

Steps to fix

  1. Log in to Salesforce as an administrator.

  2. Click Setup → search for OAuth Usage. Click on the setting: Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  3. Locate Tier1 Inbox in the list.

  4. Click Install under the Actions column.
