HOW TO USE RELEASE SUMMARY

Tier1 2023.1 release is available as of February 2023.

The release notes offer a brief description of the improvements and new features. Tier1 has added more technical documentation such as APIs, feature retirements and data model changes in each release summary based on client feedback. Contact your Tier1 Client Services representative to learn more or provide feedback on what else would be valuable to see in the release summary.

Supported browsers and devices is updated each release to reflect what Tier1 currently supports.

CLIENT CENTER

SIMPLIFIED SEARCH IMPROVEMENTS

Client Center simplified search has been improved based on user feedback.

  • Simplified search scope now supports in my lists scope in addition to in all contacts, and in all accounts scopes. For example, users can search for a name like, Gerald and return to the main grid a list of contacts with Gerald in the users’ lists only.

  • Administrators can configure account related lists to be enabled for simplified search. For example, if your organization has a custom object called account identifiers that is an account related list and contains alternate names or Ids for the account, users can search for the account using these alternate names or Ids.

EVENTS SELL-SIDE

CONFIGURABLE TIME ZONE DISPLAY

Events was changed in the previous release to display time in the user’s machine time zone. In this release, Events is offering more flexibility to allow your organization to change the time display based on the user’s preference. Administrators have the following options to configure the time display:

  1. User’s workstation time zone

  2. Event city’s time zone

  3. In a specific time zone

Tier1 may consider further enhancing the time display in future releases to allow users selecting their preferred time zone display.

MEETMAX

In this release, we continue to improve the usability of the MeetMax integration. The following new capabilities have been added.

  • Users can drag & drop attendees to register them into MeetMax conferences just like booking attendees to Tier1 Events.

  • Events cube now provides the list of companies attending the conference when registering an attendee.

  • Events cube now provides a feedback toast when a user registers an attendee so they will immediately know whether the attendee registration has been successful.

FASTER EVENT CREATION

In this release, several improvements have been made to help coordinators set up events faster.

  • The create new event menu no longer has the collection sub-menu to avoid an extra step when creating an event.

  • On the key participant section of the event creation form, create free form KP has been relabeled to be create new contact.

  • When adding key participants to an event, they can be automatically booked into all the meetings with the same role to save coordinators time.

EVENT SUMMARY IMPROVEMENTS

Tier1 events summary screen continues to be enhanced to accelerate event coordinator workflows so that they can complete their actions more quickly and effectively.

CONTACT DETAILS PANEL

The following changes have been made to the contact details pane for convenience and ease of navigation.

  • Users can select a key participant in the navigational panel and open the contact detail panel.

  • Users can download all the contacts’ meetings as calendar files from the context menu.

  • Users can filter the meetings by meeting or city.

  • Users can select a trip and the event summary screen will change to the travel tab to view more details. Users can also select a meeting and open the meeting details as well.

REQUEST TAB

The following changes have been made to make it more obvious for coordinators to accept meeting requests.

  • The action panel will display the details of the destination event and meeting such as event type, date, city and meeting time, type, location, attendees.

ATTENDEE TABS

  • Administrators can configure additional context menu items for multi-day event attendees and event attendee tabs. The export to Excel option is enabled by default which exports the attendees to Excel with the displayed columns.

SCHEDULE TAB & MEETING DETAILS

  • The attendance type is now inline editable so users can indicate whether the attendee is attending physically or virtually.

  • A standard user can now inline edit the status, role, and attendance type of attendees they have booked.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

  • On the edit event screen, the add and import buttons have been removed from client attendee grid to avoid confusion around adding attendees. Users should add attendees to meetings and the application will synchronize to event attendees.

  • On the edit meeting screen, if the user updates the address, they can use the view original address button to revert to the original address.

  • The attendee role is now reading from both the attendee role and key participant role configuration. This allows users to select the proper role for KP at the meeting level (or to have it populated automatically from the event). Standard users will only be able to select the attendee role (to prevent from accidentally selecting a KP role). Note: administrators should review the current role configuration after this upgrade to ensure your organization has the correct attendee roles.

  • Users can now click on an event feedback record to open the event feedback form; it previously opened the standard call report form.

MOBILE

FLEXIBLE CALL REPORT NOTIFICATIONS

Client Center introduced a new flexible call report email notification in the previous release to ensure the most relevant information is shared with users. In this release, Mobile can be configured to use the same call report email notification template for consistency with Client Center.

By default, the new flexible call report email notification is disabled on Mobile. Contact Tier1 for the configuration document on all the configurations and restrictions of the new email template.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

APPROVALS

Tier1 has introduced several Salesforce approval processes such as coverage, wall crossing, priority contacts over the last several releases and now in this release, users can approve these records on mobile. The following capabilities are available with Mobile approval.

  • Administrators can enable which objects users can approve on mobile.

  • Users can approve a single record or mass approve multiple records.

By default, the approval menu is disabled. Contact Tier1 for the configuration to enable the approval menu and what business processes need to be configured for approval.

SECURITY

Tier1 Mobile Now has been updated to escape injected script code from data inputs such as Call Report notes, task notes, meeting notes, quick add contact forms, quick add account forms, deals.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

  • Administrators can disable task and meeting reminder since Salesforce Lightning no longer supports this feature.

  • Administrators can filter out deal records from the account deals cube and related to search in case your organization does not want users to view specific deal records. The deal list is not impacted by this configuration because list criteria is user defined.

  • Administrators can filter out call report records from my call reports list, the account or contact call report cubes, and the related to search in case your organization does not want users to view specific call report records.

SECURITY ENGINE

ACTIVITY SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS

In this release, Security Engine has optimized querying activity security records to avoid Apex heap size errors.

ARCHITECTURE

PREFERENCE MANAGER REST API

FEATURE RETIREMENT

CLIENT CENTER QUICK CALL FORM

WHAT IS CHANGING

As part of the 2023.1 release, the Client Center quick call form will be deprecated and no longer supported by Tier1. As part of the feature retirement, the following fields in the activity object will be available for deletion in 2023.2.

  • Called_Contact_Number__c

  • Notify_Coverage__c

  • Telephony_Message_Id__c

  • Telephony_Message_Label__c

WHY ARE WE RETIRING THIS FEATURE

The rapid interaction form enhances and replaces the functionalities that are available in the quick call form.

WHAT ACTION TO TAKE

  1. Clients currently using the quick call form need to upgrade to the rapid interaction form. Please contact Tier1 for implementation details.

  2. Review any custom solutions built around the fields being deprecated. Once deprecated, these fields can be deleted from Salesforce.
